ADAS Core Measures Short Form

The ADAS Core Measures Short Form is RMBSI’s newest survey offering. It was created in response to customer requests for a short survey that would require very little class time, but that would still cover key evaluation topics. It includes only 12 questions and requires approximately 5 to 10 minutes for students to complete.

CSAP "Core Measures"
The ADAS Core Measures Short Form covers the five "core measures" recommended by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention for evaluation of prevention efforts. CSAP recommends that evaluation surveys should include questions about marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco, and should ask about:

  • use-rates in the last 30 days
  • age of first use
  • perceived harm
  • perceived availability
  • perceived disapproval of ATOD use

All of these measures are included in the ADAS Core Measures Short Form. If you need additional questions, please read about the standard Adolescent ADAS and Prevention Planning Survey, or contact us about survey customization.

Reliability & Validity
The questions on the ADAS Core Measures Short Form are all taken from the Adolescent ADAS or Prevention Planning Survey. We are as yet unable to offer any information on reliability/validity of the individual items when used in this new format. However, these questions have successfully been used with a large and diverse population over many years in the complete ADAS and PPS surveys. The scales from which these items have been taken have consistently demonstrated high reliability and validity.

Cost and Ordering
The ADAS Core Measures Short Form costs $1.00 per survey plus a $150 fee for each report. If administering this survey as a pre/post evaluation, you will need to order one pre-test report and one post-test report. The report will consist of 11 tables. To order, please call 1-800-447-6354 and speak to Patti Waters.
